熱處理爐對(duì)鋼材的熱處理，不允許有表面的氧化與脫碳，應(yīng)保持表面的光潔。熱處理爐往往需要密封，以便控制爐氣成分，有時(shí)還要保持爐膛內(nèi)某種特定的氣氛。例如冷加工鋼材的光亮退火，多半在保護(hù)氣體介質(zhì)或在真空中進(jìn)行，所以輻射管在熱處理爐上應(yīng)用很多，當(dāng)工件或鋼材進(jìn)行化學(xué)熱處理時(shí)，如滲碳、都要保持在一定成分活性介質(zhì)中加熱，須用熱處理爐或浴爐。
